Text or IM the Reference Desk
Text Us Your Questions
Now you can text message the reference desk during all open library hours. Hit us with your toughest research questions - we can handle it.
It’s easy:
Just text your question to 660/223-0008.
Add us to your contact list!
Instant Message Us (aka "IM", "Chat")
Do you need information fast while online? You can IM the reference desk to help you find information quickly and guide your search strategies to accomplish your research tasks.
It's easy:
If you have an IM account with AOL Instant Messenger (AIM), MSN messenger, or Yahoo Messenger , just add JCKLRef (or jcklref@hotmail.com for MSN users) to your buddy list.
If you already have an account with any of the above chat services, but are at a university computer that does not have a chat software client installed, try Meebo to connect to your chat service, or use the web-embedded chat box on the library's homepage.
What if we’re not available to chat? While you are online, you can access library resources 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can use Quest (the library catalog) to locate library materials. You can also use library databases (for off campus access you will need your Central ID and password). You can also email your questions (we’ll get back with you as soon as possible) or call us at (660) 543-4154. Of course, we would be happy if you stopped by the Reference Desk in person, too!
