Springtime storms in Missouri are often accompanied by tornados. On Thursday, March 10th, at 1:30 p.m., UCM will be participating in the Missouri Statewide Tornado Drill.

If you are in the Library at that time, expect to evacuate to the Library’s basement using the north-side emergency stairwells (not the glass rotunda). Because it is only a drill, it should not last more than 20-30 minutes. Follow the directions given by Library staff.

Tornado drill information signs will be posted on the entrances to the building. Oddly enough, should the drill be canceled due to actual threatening weather, information canceling the drill will be posted on these doors. Be alert during inclement weather in case an actual evacuation to the basement becomes necessary.

Your cheerful participation is appreciated and you will learn what to do should an actual tornado warning occur.
