Dorothy Craig Retires
After 22 years at the Kirkpatrick Library, Dorothy Craig has decided it is time to retire and pursue other interests. Dorothy came to work for the Library in July 1979 as a Library Assistant. She was responsible for placing orders in the Acquisitions Department. When she retired in December 2001, it was estimated she had placed the orders for approximately 150,000 titles. In later years, her work included assisting in the bindery process, ordering replacement issues of journals, and sorting the mail.
In addition to her work at the library, Dorothy and her daughter managed a catering business, which served the community and the library on several occasions. The staff could always look forward to sampling Dorothy's wonderful array of delectable leftovers.
As a thoughtful and caring person, Dorothy brought a special warmth to the Central community and the library staff wishes her the best in retirement.
