Well Done spring 2002
Nancy Gieselman, as a member of the Faculty Load Report Team, received the Team of the Quarter award at the Board of Governor's meeting, April 17. Nancy was also elected president of the Central Missouri Chapter IAAP (International Association of Administrative Professional) and will begin her duties in July.
Carrie Clothier traveled to Portland, Oregon in October and helped the Kansas City Chorus of Sweet Adelines place sixth in an international competition. April 19-21 Carrie competed in another Sweet Adelines Regional Competition. The chorus won first place, which qualifies them to compete in the Fall 2003 International Competition in Phoenix, Arizona.
Amy Hu received Central Missouri's Advisor of the Year Award for her outstanding service and commitment for advising Central Missouri's Chinese Student Association. She received the award at a reception held in the University Union Ballroom on April 18.
Cheryl Riley has been promoted to professor. Also, on April 11 Cheryl gave a presentation to the Central community sponsored by the Center for Teaching and Learning. On April 16 she presented a workshop titled "Accessible Web Pages, the Designer's Responsibility" at Power Up 2002 in Columbia, Missouri.
Dr. Pal Rao presented "Balancing Intellectual Property Rights with Information Technology" in November at the Computers on Campus 2001 conference, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. In March he also presented "Academic Librarians and Information Technology" at the 17th Annual Computers in Libraries 2002 conference, Washington, DC.
Barbara Wales authored "The Encyclopedia of Psychology: A Review" in Behavioral and Social Sciences Librarian vol. 20, no. 2, 2002.
Sandra Jenkins has had the article "MAP Scores and the School Librarian" published in Media Horizons: The Journal of the Missouri Association of School Librarians Spring 2002. Sandra also presented two workshops titled "Scrapbooking to Preserve the History of Your School and Library" at the MASL conference, April 14-15.
