                          McCormick

Kathryn McCormick:

Coordinator, Instructional Design, CTL.  Kathy has been at UCM since 2002, teaching both face-to-face and online as a full-time instructor of English. Since 2012, Kathy has Coordinated the Instructional Designers of what is now CTL. Her focus in on Quality Assurance, and she has assisted in online course and program design and coordinated the internal review process of a full Online Program Initiative. Her philosophy of online education is that of an enthusiastic skeptic. Online ed is here to stay, but if it is not handled with skill, and with an awareness of new theories and technologies tempered by Best Practices as determined by research and experience, it could go bad quickly. Online education provides opportunities for flexibility, access, and creativity that face-to-face classes can’t always match, and it is a very good way to enhance our presence in the Educational sphere.

Kathy is Point of Contact for the College of Education.
