New Reference Title Details Foreign Relations

Where do you go if you want to find information about relatives who live in another country? If you guessed The Encyclopedia of U. S. Foreign Relations (Ref E183.7 .E53 1997,) one of the library's new reference titles, you would be wrong. Instead, the four volume set deals with the relations between the United States government and foreign ones. Its entries are under topic, person, or country. There is a look at each presidency of the U.S. and how it has dealt diplomatically with other countries. Views can be provocative, as when the work states that to his critics, Harry S Truman "lacked qualities of presidential leadership and oversimplified complex issues." There are other entries on such matters as the history of the State Department and the historical backgrounds of various countries.

However, if you do have a question concerning where to find information about your human relations abroad, consider starting your search in a library.
