Linwood Mason has filled the empty position of Media Specialist. His job is to manage the Computer Commons (formerly the Self-Instruction Center).
"Mace" comes to us from the Air Force, retiring after 20 years of service with the rank of Major. For his first 14 years in the service he piloted B-52s. Since then he managed several planning and training operations, the last few years at Whiteman Air Force Base. He holds a degree in Chemistry from the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Mace gained his considerable computer expertise both in the Air Force and by running his own computer supply, programming, and consulting company. He also has experience as a network administrator, developing and coordinating courseware and providing instruction to computer users.
A priority with Mace is to move as smoothly as possible into the new library. He will find his lab much larger there and is looking forward to providing as high quality service as possible. He also would like to develop computer-based library orientation aides.
Mace has two sons, Don, 12, and Devon, 11.
