Michelle Miller joined Library Services on April 1, as a Bibliographic Rebinding Technician. She has a B.F.A. in Painting from Central. She previously worked for the Office of Financial Aid. Michelle and husband Nathan have a 1 1/2 year old daughter, Erika.

Farewell to Linda Lengfellner after five years of service, who took a job with the Biology Department. Linda served on the editorial staff of Info One for several years. Her many contributions will be missed.

Congratulations to Barbara Wales and Mary Tygett on their recent promotions to Associate Professor.

May 19, Julie Carriker and Carrie Clothier attended a Reference Workshop at Longview Community College.

As a member of the Kansas City Chorus of Sweet Adelines, Carrie Clothier participated in regional competition on May 2. The Kansas City Chorus won, making them eligible to compete at international competition in Atlanta, GA fall 1999.

Bob Heater received his Doctor of Commissioner's Service in March 1998. He has been promoted to Training Staff for Boy Scouts of America's Heart of America's Commissioner College.

Becky Anderson, Chad Marnholtz, and Pat Antrim attended the Kansas City Area Depository Libraries Council meeting at Johnson County, KS, Public Library, May 29.

Larry Dorrell reviewed AmeriCorp projects in Republic and Springfield May 6.

Mollie Lawson, Mary Tygett, and Kathleen Weessies attended the Missouri Library Association Executive Board Meeting May 8 in Columbia.

Lonnie Lawson visited the Excelsior Springs library May 19 and Bameker Elementary School Library May 20.

Dean Pal Rao attended Missouri Public Academic Library Administrators meeting June 5, in Jefferson City.

John Small traveled to Vaxjo, Sweden, from May 11- 19 where he presented technology and distance learning to faculty and staff of Vaxjo University.
