New Library Staff

David Cruz, IBM Network Administrator in the Harmon Computer Commons, graduated from Central in 2000 with a B.S. in Computer Information Science and is currently working on a masters in the same field. He has worked for the James C. Kirkpatrick library for the last five years and has held the positions of student worker and graduate assistant.

David's responsibilities in the Harmon Computer Commons include providing information technology support to faculty, students, staff, and community clients. He is also responsible for maintaining the workstations in the Harmon Computer Commons as well as its network.

 

Rusty Smith, Library Assistant in the Technical Services Department, has joined Library Acquisitions. He is working on his B.A. in English, with plans to pursue an M.A. in Library and Information Science.

Rusty is originally from Columbia, Missouri. He has lived on the east and west coasts, Hawaii, and in England. Rusty has worked for Caterpillar, General Electric, and has toured in the Marine Corps.

He is married to Heather Smith, and their daughter Madison was born in July. Between family, work, and school, Rusty likes to write and illustrate science fiction/fantasy books.
